​Gayle Hoover Frick has been involved in theatre since her first role in Show Boat at NLU in 1972. Although performing was her first love, she has spent decades contributing to community, school and church productions as a costumer, director, choreographer, producer and performer. Her work has taken her behind the scenes and onto the stage with Strauss Theatre Center, Glendora Players, Josh Madden Productions and Twin City Entertainment.

 

As a costumer, Gayle enjoys collaborating with directors and actors to find the perfect balance of comfort, character and storytelling. Her recent costuming credits for Josh Madden Productions include two productions of The Rocky Horror Show, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, A Christmas Story and Waiting for Godot.

 

Gayle continues to perform whenever the opportunity arises and was most recently seen as Diane (and others) in Strauss Theatre Center’s production of Come From Away. Her stage work has earned her several coveted Christopher Awards—and after literally “breaking a leg” in the spring, she feels especially blessed to be back doing what she loves.

 

Gayle holds a B.A. in Speech/Theatre from NLU, now ULM, and is certified in secondary education in Louisiana and Tennessee. She is the co-owner and designer of Music City Studios, a professional recording studio in West Monroe, and the owner/operator of venue and historic home: Glendora.

 

Away from the theatre, her greatest joy is traveling and spending time with Scott, her husband of 33 years, their family and especially their three grandgirls.
